How to Build Target Audience Filters with Segments in LenzVU

Welcome to this step-by-step guide on building target audience filters using the Segments feature in LenzVU. This powerful tool allows you to narrow down your audience based on specific actions, purchases, or preferences, ensuring that your campaigns reach the right people at the right time.

Step 1: Log into Your LenzVU Dashboard #

Begin by logging into your LenzVU account. Once logged in, you will be directed to your dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to the Segments Section #

  1. From your dashboard, find the Automation tab on the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on Segments to access any existing audience segments.

Step 3: Understanding Segments #

A segment is a targeted audience group based on specific conditions. These can be broad, such as all active clients in the last three years, or highly specific, like clients who attended a particular class last week. Segments can be used for:

  • Automation campaigns
  • Newsletters and group messaging
  • Understanding client demographics without direct communication

Step 4: Creating a New Segment #

  1. Click Add Segment to begin.
  2. Click Add New Filter to define your criteria.
  3. Select the filter type from the drop-down menu. Filters include:
    • Date of registration
    • Class attendance
    • Purchases made
    • Classes remaining
    • Membership expiration
    • First class anniversaries
    • Birthdays
    • Class milestones
    • Age
    • Website interactions
    • Form submissions
    • And more!

Step 5: Setting Conditions #

  • Once you’ve chosen a filter, set the variables to define the segment’s conditions.
  • Example: To create a segment of clients who attended at least one class in the last week, select the class attendance filter and set the appropriate date range.
  • If multiple conditions are required, click Add New Filter for additional criteria.
  • If clients need to meet one condition or another, click Add New Group to create an OR condition.
    • Example: Clients who attended at least one class last week OR clients who registered for an upcoming class.

Step 6: Save and Review Your Segment #

  1. Once satisfied with the conditions, give your segment a clear and recognizable title.
  2. Click Save to store the segment.
  3. To review included clients, click the three-dot menu beside the segment and select View Clients.
    • If no clients appear, it means no one currently meets the conditions.
